I've never met a priest who could tell you anything about Heaven, but they knew every square inch of Hell. They should. They built it.

earlier in the week I ripped my collection of Kissy Records' run of 3" CD-rs from '03-'05. not sure why I hadn't done it sooner, but thankfully they all still played not shown - my disc ". . . sorry I couldn't fix your horse" and I'm still missing Blake Edwards' and Thomas Korber's disks #CDFriday

a group of 3" CD-rs laid out in a grid on a wood floor. each is in a clear vinyl sleeve with similar simple covers: a square of vellum with centered text - the artist's name in bold, a centered line divider, and the album title below. with the exception of Mike Bullock's disc which is a b&w drawing of rain pouring from a cloud over a flat landscape

l to r, top to bottom:

Brendan Murray - garden
Jason Talbot - thank you
Adam Sonderberg - everything that rises must converge
Mike Bullock - 'this will cheer you up'

Chris Cooper - special bonus thing
Taku Unami - poltergeist
John Hudak - old moon
Tom Cox - stint

Howard Stelzer - witte
Franz de Waard - klankschap #4
J Sullivan - ice shelf
Mike Shiflet - the lace merchants

Ronnie Sundin - standards

Remnants of a memorial garden for Robert "Yummy" Sandifer, an 11-year-old boy who lived a tough and short life. Recruited into a gang, he killed a teenage girl and then was killed by two teenage boys 30 years ago this month. The story became fodder for the "superpredator" myth of '90s crime policy.

Photo of a pumpkin pie sectioned into normal pie pieces, with a piece-sized triangular wedge cut in the off-centre middle, intersecting several of the other slices. Caption reads;

"This person took his part, but affected others. He exercised his freedom, but with injustice. Freedom can’t be exercised as everyone wants. Justice disappears when you harm others. I’m not talking about morality, I’m talking about the bad exercise of freedom."

Four panels of a cartoon in which an adult speaks to a child.

1994 (in front of a rubbish bin): "Pick up your litter and save the earth!"
2004 (in front of a recycle bin): "Recycle and you can save the earth!"
2014 (next to a bicycle): "Reduce your carbon footprint and you can save the earth!"
2024 (in front of a massive wildfire): "Completely restructure global economic systems and you may be able to save a remnant of humanity!"
