It is still unbelievable to me how tech companies are absolutely willing to trash their product and reputation. I know they think it makes them more money, but it can't last.
If they keep forcing AI on us I'm sure it will work eventually. Some how.
This is an advert from theatre weekly from a chap doing a wogan show
Hah, that's a guy I went to uni with and he's as surprised about it as anyone
The "it costs $2.40ish for every 1$ of profit Open AI makes" from Zitron's latest newsletters has stuck with me. It's not even profitable.
I honestly thought this was parody, so checked. Jesus Christ.
They often feel like the type you can goad into burning their own house down by suggesting it might make them profit. No need to confirm. If they ask for clarification, just shrug. Theyll still do it.
Short term profit over long term sustainability is modern capitalism all over, I guess.
This looks to me like a crawling/information gathering error that could've just as easily been made by Google ten or even fifteen years ago, rather than anything new or related to AI. (which is weird, because when I first saw this post I assumed it was a creepy AI generated Wogan 😂)
