I'm very happy with how this pour went. No leaks at all, and well within my estimation of how much material I would need. The issue is that the resin is not a "deep pour" resin, it's only meant for shallow pours less than 4 in deep...
Took the next major leap and poured the resin. I think I have the wrong type of resin sooooo 🤞🤞. But it's poured, and we used about 1320 ml. My original estimation was 1225 ml. I also threw in random amounts of blue and black tint, we'll see how that turns out in a week. XD
I've got the plywood measured and marked! However the rubber handle on my 20-year-old jigsaw appears to have turned into goo.. lol
My #squeakysaturday only consisted of shining. I did get a new cool tank top hood thingy though! I'm excited to wear that to the next event.
The totally scientific lab results results: A little bit less than 1.5L in the big measuring vessel or 1.225L using a smaller measuring vessel twice. I figure I'll Make a batch of 1.4L of resin, just to make sure that we have enough in one hoof.
Okay so now I need to figure out how much resin I need to use to fill the mold. I figure I will do a < insert fancy name here> test, to see how much water is displaced by putting the existing mold into a full bucket, and then adding 10+15%.
Yep totally agree, even getting your own kit together isn't super hard. ^^
I guess I forgot to take a before pic, but this is the repair job after 2 seams let go on my ~8year old tank hoodie: If you are getting into rubber, learn to fix it! It is a skill that comes in handy and is MUCH cheaper than having someone else fix it.
