In the wake of our recent AGM, the Society are delighted to formally announce the Winner and Proxime Accessit of the Medium Aevum Essay Prize 2024: - Winner: Christopher G. Lu, ‘Learned humour, humorous learning: John Free’s Latin translation of Synesius’s Economium Calvitii (1461) and its transmission’ - Proxime Accessit: Rowan Wilson, ‘Feeling “aliene”: reimagining affectivity in the works of Walter Hilton’ We extend our sincere congratulations to both the Winner and the Proxime Accessit for their outstanding submissions. The essays submitted for the 2024 Essay Prize were of an exceptionally high standard, and we thank all those who shared their work with us. Submissions for the Medium Aevum Essay Prize 2025 will be opening shortly, and details for how to submit your entry will be posted soon.
