Enjoyed giving my paper on “Asian American Voices” at the IABA World conference (International Auto/Biography Association) at the University of Iceland earlier, talking about @jdebbiel.bsky.social ‘s “In Limbo” and Cathy Park Hong‘s “Minor Feelings” and self-fragmentation.

Photo of a printed paper with the title “Asian American Voices: (Dis)Affection, Self-Fragmentation and Form”, laid on top are a copy of Deb JJ Lee’s “In Limbo” and the conference programme booklet, titled IABA World 2024 conference.

Excited to present on the Teen Narratives panel at the ISSN #Narrative2024 conference in Newcastle with my brilliant colleague Anneke Schewe. Our paper is titled ‘Bury your queer tropes!’: Serial Character Development, Queer Representation and the Coming-of-Age Narrative in ‘Heartstopper’

Back in London for play rather than work, but like any good literary scholar would do, my first stop is the British Library anyway 😇 Got a short temporary renewal for my reader’s pass as the system is still being repaired overhauled after the cyber attack. I miss having this at my doorstep
