Starting my lab at new uni and rethinking my management systems. Previously, I used Slack for communication and Asana for project management. Asana never worked for us, but I think Trello might. What tools do you love or hate for managing your group? (ESP w/ undergrads) #academicsky #psychscisky

RIT has a Slack Enterprise subscription, so we use that a lot. We pay for monday.com for project management ... love it, but it's expensive.

Student perspective here. Big fan of Slack, worked great during my Master’s project. Prefer it over Discord, which focuses more on voice chat, due to app integrations and it being a bit more ‘professional’.

Slack works really well for our lab. We started using Trello for some big projects. Undergrads use Slack, but they didn't take to Trello, so we only use it for management

We used Teams for communicating and sharing files because the university provided it during lockdown (and kept it afterwards). I've never tried a project management system with my team. I personally used Notion for a while but didn't have the time to fully get into it

Discord feels nice

I would second Slack for lab comms. It's great. Trello has not been great for us. It might be that there's very little buy in (only a few people have found it useful). What did not work about Asana for you? (Been considering it myself)

We use Slack for everything. Their EDU discount is huge (we pay about $100 USD per year for 10ish users) and it does everything we need.

We use Slack and Trello, though not as integrated as they might be. I should clarify. The lab uses Slack. I use Trello.
