Curse you, Audacy, for geo-blocking my beloved, crotchety Philly commentary š
Which is to say, the fact that itās been absolute *crickets* from Lucasfilm about everything the cast and crew of THE ACOLYTE have faced during the show's run and post-cancellation is downright shameful
I know Iām viewing it as a fandom journalist, but it was really something for *that* to be the non-response after cast/creatives who worked on OBI-WAN KENOBI, TROP, and PERCY JACKSON (not mentioned in the article but a very egregious example) all managed it.
Or rather, it wasāand I'm paraphrasing here because I no longer have access to those emails to source that infoāsomething like, "We'll get right back to you" before I got ghosted for several days and several follow-ups lol
Iāve been looking at job postings outside of journalism as well because lol @ this industry, and the difference between what one industry pays over the otherāeven the rates of non-journo jobs considered on the low endāis wild
Like, I am more than aware of how low some companies pay, but the job has two people's worth of responsibilities for an obscenely insulting amount of money
Well, if the date passes and one of the pubs runs that piece except a staff writer did it instead, Iāll at least know itās a good pitch š
And yeah, I do feel kinda weird about tracking emails sometimes, but itās the only defense I have š
I think I only ever got rejected once. Otherwise (of the no-goes) it was āopened but didnāt respond,ā ādidnāt open at all,ā and (paraphrasing) āinterested but pitch again closer to the date, only to not open the follow-up email sent six months laterā
Always the possibility someone turns on the extension to block those trackers after that, but the result is really the same, really: *crickets*
