Some notes from this update on Snakebite Guy: there was an attempt to turn the snakes over to expert facilities before they were euthanized. He's still on a respirator in serious condition. A snake biologist was quoted as saying "His body's probably going to want to shut down relatively soon."
FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A Florence man remains in serious condition after being bitten by the world’s most venomous snake, one of 14 that were eventually euthanized, authorities said Monday night. Jef...
Very sad (but understandable) that the snakes had to be euthanized. Glad the cats are safe and being cared for. Sounds like horrific conditions for all of them. Tupperware? Rotting food? IF this asshole manages to survive I hope animal cruelty charges are waiting.
Wait umm sorry what the SNAKES are getting euthanized? The only being who deserves to be dead here is on his way to that status...
Poor snek babies 😢
I feel like the doctor also said this to his mother at the moment of his birth
Snakebite guy was a high school teacher, which is horrifying.
Authorities provide additional information...
I was kind of wondering how he fared. How awful about the snakes. They didn't deserve that.
Interesting transcription error in the article, "human toxic" for "hemotoxic" (describing the venom). (Most venoms are either hemotoxins or neurotoxins; taipans have both plus some extra bits for maximum damage)
I hope at least the two cats that were found there as well have been rescued. One of my favourite things about cats is that they aren’t venomous.
It's possible to keep venomous snakes safely and humanely, but it's expensive and requires a good amount of space to do it right. Would guess that he wasn't doing it correctly.
Jfc this guy was just a venomous snake beanie baby collectors
