Important to understand that Yellowknife residents cannot evacuate to anywhere else in the Northwest Territories because pretty much every other town/settlement in the NWT has *already* been evacuated due to other wildfires in the NWT. The NWT is bigger than Europe and most of it is on fire.

There is ONE highway connecting Yellowknife to lower-down Canada. ONE. And it is basically empty for like, 400km at a go. Except for bison, but the bison do not have gasoline or Big Gulps on them, because they are bison
I hope that last sentence hits home for people. NWT is huge, sparsely populated, and covered in boreal forest. A large chunk of it is on fire. Vast swaths of it will be gone when winter sets in and the people who love off the land will have nothing to live off of.
NWT government should sue the fossil fuel industry for recovery funds.
