This is worth a watch on the topic I don't think it's available on passport any longer but looks like you can rent it on prime for cheap www.pbs.org/wgbh/america...
The Poison Squad tells the story of government chemist Dr. Harvey Wiley who, determined to banish these dangerous substances from dinner tables, took on the powerful food manufacturers and their allie...
The closest thing to a precursor to the FDA was called the poison squad because it consisted of Harvey Wiley feeding literal poison to volunteers based on the literal poison he'd documented in the American food supply (that in a lot of cases was intended to cover up spoiled food)
If by "solo play" you mean "I played both sides" then yes lol It is a decent solitaire game in the sense that there's no hidden cards/covered units/etc, so you can play solo, but you'll be playing both sides vs having a bot or some sort of other opponent dynamic
ALT: a man in a blue shirt says i 'm playing both sides
A logistics focused American Revolution game, yes please
This is a super cool game
Also @tznkai.bsky.social re: that red sea twilight struggle bot, it's now 2 for 4 against me so lmao, my skills against a piece of printed cardboard and probability is apparently unchallenged
Haven't played it yet, but a revolutionary war game with a logistics focus, well
Do we like our wargames folks?
It also has a novel "bot" that allows you to play a full game solitaire I'm still getting the hang of being able to smoothly execute the bot, but it's pretty nifty insidegmt.com/inside-gmt-o...
And that Twilight Struggle is Twilight Struggle: Red Sea. It's a standalone game, focused on the Horn of Africa/Arabian Peninsula and with a time epoch of late 60s through the 80s. Same basic dynamics, albeit some new cards. It is also more condensed (2 turns) so you can play a full game in an ~hour
