This is why systemic change to eliminate single use plastic is meaningful work

As someone who has written 2.5 “future of gas” reports… we’re not describing a therapy, more so a process/timeline.

Potential watershed moment with what I think is the first, but probably not the last class action suit filed against a gas utility (Eversource) for misleading customers as to the health, safety, and environmental effects of natural gas. #EnergySkywww.universalhub.com/images/2024/...

And I think that carries to military and health care too! We can’t use progressive taxation as cop-out for corporate malfeasance and lack of accountability

I agree in terms of goals, but this very much fits under redistribution vs pre-distribution paradigm. IMO the “price caps” enable cop-out on holding IOUs responsible for ensuring their investments are just and reasonable.

Genuine question, how will these caps work? Specifically, who’s picking up the cost of the portion that is over the 6% threshold?

For those seeking more info: This is from “expert” testimony submitted by NatGrid to the New York Public Service Commission as justification for (what I believe to be) an obscenely high ROE. It’s likely the end result will be less than what’s requested but probably much more than what it should be.

From NatGrid’s latest rate case filing in New York. — “because utility stock prices are down, we need a higher return on equity to attract investors.” Ratepayers are out hundreds of millions more annually than they should be because of this voodoo.
