Deconstructing Over the Garden Wall to help with RPG adventure design.
The reference was just simple 3d geometric blocks, and then I drew over them to add the details like the buildings, sign, and vehicles. I did it a bunch of times because over the same reference over the course of months until I was happy!

First, started with a rough hand drawn top down map for playtesting. Then I blocked it out roughly in sketchup, which has an isometric camera mode for exporting the reference. Then, with the ref, I just drew ithe map about 10 different times until I was happy with it, haha
I kinda cooked on the Swineheart map despite not really knowing what I'm doing when it comes to art
