I'm hearing and reading so many stories about how the dock workers strike could wreak havoc on our supply chain and all I can think is, well then you better pay them what they're asking. Seems like an easy solution. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve seen many people of various political persuasions say that they’ve seen very little or no coverage of the devastation in Asheville. That may be so, but it’s not really an indictment of the media as much as it’s an indication that your media diet in particular is fucked.

i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks.

daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.

I think one of many factors that causes people to misperceive coverage levels of something is that several important algorithms, most importantly Facebook and Threads, now deprioritize news. If you’re used to seeing coverage go by in your feeds, you won’t, and it’s not because there isn’t any.

"[Scotland] has detected no cases of cervical cancer in women born between 1988-1996 who were fully vaccinated against HPV between the ages of 12 and 13." That's honestly so amazing.

An innocent Gen Zer recently asked the Daria Reddit community if people were REALLY that obsessed with diet culture and thinness in the 90s and 2000s, and oh, the expressions of raw Gen X and Millennial trauma that ensued
