543 words in the journal today, in which Frank is very upset about Martin McDonagh's 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' and I abuse commas.

She lifted the script from the floor and rifled through the pages.

"If you have notes, if you have concerns, we can sit down and talk them out."

I wrenched it from her grasp with an intensity that caused her to stumble backwards. I could feel the searing heat of my face, the tears threatening, the sting of them only enraging me further, and I was in the cillín, you were telling me that it had to end, that we had to stop, and I'd the sledge in my hand, my arms were heavy and poised for destruction, for release. I tore the thing apart, flung pages at her, a crazed thing.

"Fucking Pato, is it? Perfect for the role, am I?"

"Frank, lower your voice."

"Oh will I fuck. Lower my voice, you patronising bitch. Perfect for the role, you said, and me the thick bastard who took it as a compliment."

It was sooooooo disappointing that it turned out to just be brisket.

A Facebook memory from 11 years ago. Saoirse had posted, "Caoimhe is watching 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' and Kim Kardashian ordered human placenta online and fed it to her unknowing family. This happened. Kim Kardashian essentially sneakily fed her family human flesh.
I might actually like her."

Listening to the audiobook of Lucy Jones' 'Matrescence' in the middle of the night last year as I rocked my baby to sleep.

Reading Henry de Montherlant's 'The Girls/Pity for Women' during a long and lonely stint in Australia when I was 20.

Reading Bukowski's 'Women' on a subway in New York. Having some suit gush to me about how Bukowski is so great, that it really makes you feel like you're a blue collar guy, only to get uppity and sulky when I didn't engage him in further conversation (dude, I was READING)

Reading American Psycho during lunch in secondary school, grossing my friends out by reading them the rat scene.
