Can someone help me navigate this website? How do I make sure my posts are showing up in certain feeds? Do I have to make sure that I use the relevant hashtags like #UKMathsChat? Because I see plenty of other posts showing up in the feed sans hashtag. Writing this out has made me feel so old...
We absolutely all need to take the time to fill this out! I know it's a busy time of the year but this is our chance to be heard! Might be a good thing to chat about in a department meeting, I know I'll definitely be talking to colleagues about it.
And we’re off! The call for evidence for the curriculum and assessment review is now open, and will be for 8 weeks. As @beckyfrancis.bsky.social says, this is the chance for a national conversation. Excited to hear the diverse views, insights and expertise of all. www.gov.uk/government/c...
We're inviting people to share their ideas for potential improvements to the school curriculum and assessment system in England.
This is fab! I wish I had this tool when I was teaching expanding brackets. In hindsight I feel so silly for not ever thinking of the first step of rewriting two brackets into a combination of expanding one bracket.
It would be interesting to compare what teachers of other subjects think too! #edusky
#UKMathsChat so I've been pondering the many hours I spent reworking KS3/4 schemes of work... Was that a good use of my time? As experienced maths teachers, is there a need for excel spreadsheet telling everyone what order to teach in? Is there a better way? Curious to hear what other people do!
Has anyone else in #UKMathsChat had a read of this? Would be very interested to hear what the reception's been like - there's been a bit going on over on Twitter, but conversations are easier to track here!
Very good report this morning from OCR on exams, calling for a reduction in content and evolution towards digital exams. It rightly recognises that skills depend on knowledge, that coursework is problematic, and there are pitfalls with teaching generic skills. teach.ocr.org.uk/striking-the...

I've got a session at this event with my colleague Steven, we're looking at the transition from GCSE to A Level Maths. Would be great to see some people from #UKMathsChat#EduSky
Very interested in this too! There was this Guardian article posted a few weeks back - it would be interesting to see how much this matches with what people here say! www.theguardian.com/education/ar...
