By the end of 6 and beginning of 7, I owned the whole set and was reading them every night. Mom, wisely, allowed me to stay up an extra hour if I was reading. I'd often sneak an hour an a half if she wasn't paying attention.
Little House on the Prairie holds a special place in my heart as the book that hooked me on long, hide under the covers reading entirely because of my Mom. She started reading it to me at about 5/6. By the end, I was able to read it to her, and was begging to read more than she wanted to let me.
