I’m so sorry, this is tough. I don’t know enough about stroke but could this be the medication rather than just the condition ? My mum had a brain tumour and it was hard to know sometimes which of her behaviour changes were the illness and which were the side effects of the drugs.

Possibly. It's hard to tell and unfortunately the medical staff aren't very forthcoming. I tend to spend more time with my wife and then get annoyed on the way home for not asking more questions.
