For a Music League round, I once picked ā€œmusic for writingā€ as the theme. Half the league was into it, the others were perplexed by the very idea. Yes, someone put 4ā€™33ā€ on the playlist. #kidlitchat

This! Reading for myself, but also reading aloud to my kids (mostly picture books, starting with some early chapter books). I enjoy reading aloud, and I really enjoy noticing what was fun or challenging about the reading experience to inform my own writing. #kidlitchat

Posted it on Threads with a pretty good response. I would love to give it a try here too! Please let me know if the idea is of any interest to you! #audhd#kidlit

Screenshot of Threads post: "Calling all #neurodivergent creatives! I've been searching for a space where women with #AuDHD (ALL women welcome can connect, share our creative projects, and just talk about life. It's tough when you feel like no one quite gets your unique process, right?

I'm thinking about setting up a Discord for us. A safe space to talk about balancing life, art, and those beautiful but chaotic brains of ours. Anyone else interested? Let's build something supportive and real."

In the next three months I'd like to get a PB into querying phase, do more critique partnering, and just have as much fun with it all as I can. #kidlitchat

Oooh Collingswood! That is local for me. I plan to go, possibly with kids in tow. #kidlitchat

Three poems rejected which still feels like a positive because I'm new to this and it means I actually submitted them in the first place. I'd like some kind of celebratory rejection ritual to help me face inevitable future rejections. Do any of you celebrate your rejections in some way? #kidlitchat

i know a big part of the reason people like NaNo was for the community, are there are other places / hashtags to follow so new writers can find digital writing groups? (I'm super out of the loop here, but would love to share any that exist as alternatives for ppl looking!)

NaNoWriMo: Stop co-opting advocacy language to justify your partnership with AI. Iā€™m an autistic ā€˜picture thinkerā€™ who writes well one moment while struggling to form sentences the next. But using Chat-GPT erases our distinct neurodivergent voices by making them indistinguishable.

Nanowrimoā€™s stance on ai: ā€œā€¢ Ableism. Not all brains have same abilities and not all writers function at the same level of education or proficiency in the language in which they are writing.
Some brains and ability levels require outside help or accommodations to achieve certain goals. The notion that all writers "should" be able to perform certain functions independently or is a position that we disagree with wholeheartedly. There is a wealth of reasons why individuals can't "see" the issues in their writing without help.ā€
