So, last week I was on vacation with my (moderately) extended family to DC. I go to DC all too frequently (way too frequently) for work, but never for vacation. But it was a week of touristy stuff... and... it was pretty great?

Love going there!!!! But there is NEVER enough time... We spent 3 hours at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and only finished two floors. Gotta get back!

I made my first visit ever last June, and I concur on it being pretty great. Did all the touristy stuff and really loved it.

DC is a lovely town. International, great restaurants, beautiful architecture, wonderful museums. But then, I'm a native, so maybe I'm biased.

As a DC-based follower, I appreciate all the love for this great city. And I am going to follow up on the NASA library tip, which I didn’t know was a thing. So, thanks!

I lived in Arlington, VA for years and spent many Saturdays—weather and schedule permitting—in DC; there was always something interesting to see/do. A friend said DC is kind of like a gift the country gave itself.

I had a day two summers ago and we hit up the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of American History, and the Lincoln Memorial. We’re gonna need at least three days next time.

Ah yes: DC's always great when it isn't swamp-trying-to-sweat-you-to-death-season.

If you're ever out here with a car, go to the National Cryptologic Museum on a Friday afternoon when you have time to kill and schedule a guided tour. The docents are all retired agents and Friday afternoon is when they schedule the ones who can be trouble ;)

I've lived within an hour of it for years, but I still love diving in and playing tourist.
