💯 Same as ‘non-verbal’ and ‘pre-verbal’ usage. Slight changes to language have such an impact. I admit I didn’t give it much thought until I started working with the special sector a few years ago. We also use ‘first 20%’ rather than ‘bottom 20%’ in our Trust - transforms some conversations.

I always imagine someone being coached in a sport. Do you want them to say ‘these are your weaknesses’ or ‘these are the areas you can improve’.
One suggests its something that can get better, the other something more intrinsic and the fault of the person. Personally, I think it does matter.
