If You’re Out There #poetry (Yes, I keep reposting this one…sometimes I just need some kind of connection…)

Hey…
if you’re out there,
if you could just let me know.
Because sometimes the days get really dark.
And I’m really okay,
but sometimes it gets really lonely.
And I’ll do all I can
to let you know that I’m here
and I’ll do what I can for you.
But sometimes I need it too.
And while it’s really scary to write this
and even more to share it (if I do),
I think it’s important.
And maybe if I say it
while I’m mostly okay
that might be enough
to let someone else know
that they can say it too,
whether they are okay or not.
And maybe this poem sucks,
but I don’t really care
because I promised I would be honest
and this is all I’ve got right now.

I hope this poem finds you.
I hope it finds you
right where you are,
just as you are,
and it sees you
and it smiles a smile
so bright and so big
and so warm it reaches out
and fills you with light
from head to toe
and you cannot help
but smile back
even if only the tiniest bit.
I hope it finds you
and reminds you
wherever you are,
whatever you’re going through,
you are not alone,
that dark as it may get
there is always light,
and you can always try again.
I hope it finds you
and it tells you
over and over and over again
how beautiful you are
and even if you can’t feel it,
you are loved.

The Ocean Holds The Memory A new poem I have been working for some time…

And for a time
the waters will gather
and take form
and the ocean will become the wave,
in all of its beauty, all of its power.
And yet the ocean it remains.

The wave cannot be captured
and separated from the ocean.
For a wave to be,
the wave must be.

Each wave carries its own shape,
carves its own way,
and yet moves with
and touches every other wave.
Each the ocean the same.

And there comes a time
when every wave must reach the shore,
its waters spread upon the land
and drawn back. The ocean it was,
the ocean it remains.

The ocean holds the memory
of every wave it has ever been.
Nothing ever lost.
Nothing ever forgotten.
