They keep using that word. I don’t think it means what they think it means.

AI music companies say their tools can democratize the art form. Some artists are skeptical.

AI music tools have already helped to create viral songs, but some artists aren’t so sure about the trend.

I remember when I had a biz proposal about an app a few years ago. A VR pioneer turned wannabe VC told me I should "sprinkle some Web3 on it" to get funding. Am thinking he lost his shirt on NFTs.

"Democratize" is the web3 codeword for "commoditize". A textbook example of this is what happened with "MEV" (i.e. arbitrages and similar practices on chain)

it's been beyond frustrating how nakedly bs AI has been while using the same playbook from the last 3 stupid things these people are ruining the planet for

We want to democratize music by finding new and inventive ways to not pay people that spent years learning how to write and play music.

I bet these are the same people who idolize Ayn Rand when it comes to letting "exceptional" people do their thing in the business and industry sectors, but when it comes to art suddenly they're talking like the Handicapper General from Harrison Bergeron

i say again: there's no conscious hypocrisy when they talk about "power to the people" because they don't see anyone outside of their clique - perhaps outside of their own skulls, even - as "people"
