It always feels a bit sad when the swallows leave as the weather gets colder. The last one left the garage this morning. There were 9 little swallows that fledged this year from the same pair. The first geese arrived yesterday from the north. The seasons on the move.

I've heard quite a few skeins flying over but I haven't seem them yet. I find it so reassuring. I've watched them fly over every autumn since childhood.

So lovely to see a swallow family thrive! In our Glos home we were v fortunate to have house martins nesting.
