Javelina in the South U.S. Idk why they're called that.
Must have some connection to the Spanish jabalí
This one is really cool. Javelina or peccaries are weirdly not just not the same species, they’re not even pigs. The Americas had a sus scrofa shaped hole and javelinas filled it. Or vice versa. They just look very similar. Feral pigs in the South are descendants of European domestic pigs.
