Okay, now I need to know the hamster one. The Danes also have some pretty funny sayings, must be a Scandi thing).
I'm guessing "The wheel is spinning, but the hamster is dead"? In Swedish: Hjulet snurrar, men hamstern är död. In reference to someone's thought process. Similar to "The lights are on, but nobody's home."
