I think they need a camera out there. With a sign that says “smile you’re on camera” That will give some people pause and any others can get a less vague letter

I suspect they don’t live in the central areas of Oceanside or Carlsbad. Not saying that’s a good thing.

I live in Oceanside just north of 78. My husband and I go into Carlsbad all the time as it is closer than downtown Oceanside. He’s a huge fan of DeNaults and is sorry to see it go. I hope they’ll relocate. I agree there are far too few affordable housing options.

Quite a few local people use this shopping center to get groceries and pharmacy items. It’s the only place in downtown Carlsbad for people who don’t have a car. It’s a pretty important resource that will be replaced by largely unaffordable units.
