Worth mentioning that the old canard that undocumented immigrants do jobs "American's won't do" is nonsense. They do jobs American companies refuse to pay a legal wage for.
This is pretty much why, until recently, conservatives in Arizona only ever made noise about immigration when they couldn't do anything about it. They know their bread and butter base use cheap immigrant labor for everything.
Somebody has to enable obscene profits with their underpaid labor. The system has rules.
Absolutely. And in an environment where total job growth since Covid has nearly equaled new immigrant jobs, this sort of thing would have maximum impact weakening all workers’ bargaining power in the US.
