these sorts of foiled-without-peril assassination attemps usually receive only brief coverage even when they happen to the actual president. did you even hear about this one in 2023 when an assassin with a swastika flag tried to breach the white house gates and kill biden?
why did the 2023 incident receive almost no coverage and the the incident this weekend receives wall-to-wall breaking news, push notification/headline coverage? what's different? who makes that decision and what are their motivations? who does that decision help?
I did because I work in the vicinity of his residence and the same city had a cath church with a militia recruiting ad in their bulletin. Upscale suburb
Also, the wackos keep turning out to be Republicans... So, despite Elon Musk being a chode who insinuated Democrats are behind the attempts, it seems a lot more likely that their own affinity for random conspiracy theories is "the root cause." Or that Trump looks weak & someone would like Vance.
Actually yes, only because of friends in DC who noticed it. But still.
I heard about it, but I'm DC local. Believe it or not, people trying to ram the gates/breach the grounds at the White House happens more often than you'd think so it doesn't tend to make national news. I'm not saying it's common, but it happens enough that the press doesn't really care about it.
Some of these are just threats, but some were pretty serious and I probably don’t remember most of them en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Securit...
That sounds vaguely familiar
