The people of North Carolina will speak with a clear voice that they do not want to be ruled by Republicans and they will wind up being ruled by Republicans - and send Republicans to DC to help rule the rest of us - anyway. It sucks!

The Constitution guarantees the citizens of each state a republican form of government, and Congress could enforce that Clause aggressively. But first, Democrats would have to want to do that.
