just like with the lawsuit that destroyed gawker, the media is largely silent defending their colleagues and rights because some of the most important people in the media are conservatives first and journalists a distant second, and this is a huge win for conservatives.

David Simon, of all people, argued with me years ago on Twitter that Gawker deserved what Peter Thiel did to it. It's crazy how deep the distaste for anything outside the status quo for the MSM goes, and fascism is apparently more comfortable than any vaguely left-ish media outlet.
