I dunno. For some of us it's kinda hard to "get over" the fact that one party tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election and stormed the Capitol, and now are running the same candidate who refuses to admit he lost last time. Seems kinda important?

this is why the "fascism is already happening/both parties are the same" stuff frustrates me it is genuinely bad in a lot of ways now, but obscuring the stakes and the extent to which it can get worse does not do anyone any favors, and it is important to understand what's coming

Add an ongoing coup attempt, a nakedly partisan Supreme Court that dreams of monarchy, and state politicians and election officials broadcasting their intentions to be chaos agents, and... well, I think I had an ending to that sentence in mind, but I blacked out from anxiety writing it.
