@cnni: Philadelphia 76ers star and reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid announced that he has committed to playing for USA Basketball at next year’s Paris Olympics https://t.co/dgFCW5cKalhttps://t.co/PRbG1s3QWb
Nevermind the fact that we'll probably all be disappointed by the end of the season again, but I just really enjoy watching Embiid and Maxey play basketball.
At Y! Sports: After learning that the James Harden deal happened in the middle of the night on Halloween (truly, scary hours) I wrote about why the 76ers made *this* deal at *this* time, and what it says about what's begun to coalesce around Joel Embiid and, especially, Tyrese Maxey: yhoo.it/45UCh9v
Maxey has stepped to the forefront in Harden’s absence, posting a career-high usage rate and averaging 30.3 points and 6.3 assists per game while leading the Sixers in touches per game and time of p...

Every time I watch this dude I see five minutes of getting pickpocketed in the backcourt, missing dunks, and throwing the ball to no one, and the announcers go "Embiid so far 33 points 10 rebounds 5 blocks and he reached a settlement over Transdnestria that averts bloodshed"

Still wild that the best 4 players in the NBA right now aren't Americans: Embiid, Jokic, Giannis and Luka. And two of them are white guys!
Joel Embiid was asked whether he sees/is motivated by the criticism he gets at the national level for missing games, and whether he thinks it's fair that he gets penalized for games missed in award discourse:
