During its effort to restore social order, Hamas resorted to prioritizing social harmony vs. justice for individual rights. We see this type of behavior in socialist projects in the past who were constantly under external threat.

The book concludes that Hamas is not fully islamic, in that it abandons all secular paths, and its not fully authoritarian as it listens to its people. It is interesting to reflect on this in relation to the previous book's lens: operating as a government in a colonized land.
