I think you’re all correct (or sound it). I just also think it’s ridiculous to think a housing crisis should be divorced from whether the economy is doing well. Spending more on homelessness for less with skyrocketing homelessness is very much an indicator of an economy that sucks.

It shouldn't be divorced from the economy, I agree. I have been a big believer in the Grand Theory of Housing (i.e., pretty much everything people hate about the economy has to do with expensive housing). However, I think there is relatively little the president can do about it. 1/
