One day I'm not going to see a German apologizing for genocide but today is not that day.
Your point is not true: "to get to "genocide" even in a worst case famine scenario you would have to ascribe the humanitarian situation solely to Israel"
If there are any of those clauses you do not Israel has met since October 7th, feel free to try to spell our your argument, because "solely to blame" isn't in there.
and Israel has been clear in intent and actions under any vaguely reasonable definition in the articles of the convention. www.un.org/en/genocidep...
There is no "single source of the humanitarian crisis" under the conservative UN definition because that's ridiculous and has never happened in history. There's always other groups that could have helped and didn't, or took advantage of the situation to heap more suffering on the group being killed
This is like saying the holocaust wasn't a genocide because the Nazis tried deportation first.
One time I looked for that for some reason and came across this. www.history.com/news/orphan-...
Over a 75-year period, up to 200,000 indigent children went from city to farm.
What the hell, is the administration just going to stop even attempting to pretend they care about anything other than sadism?
It has to be countries that really need the money and it's worth taking the L for it. We'll have to see how the internal politics works out there, some of them might regret it.
The island states are down to US pressure (threats/bribes). Argentina & Hungary are currently suffering under the reigns of Milei & Orban, lunatics who latched onto Israel/Netanyahu because they also love corruption and abusive governance. Not sure about Czechia, but probably US pressure there too.
