Reports have come to me that Bernie Mireault, creator of The Jam, died on Monday from suicide, due in part to his lack of a current position in comics and the poverty that came from that. Folks, be good to yourself, be good to others, and reach out of help when you feel the need.

Goddamnit. A wonderfully original and underappreciated artist.

The Jam is one of my favorites from that era. I only knew him from this and a few comics Joe Matt did featuring him. He always seemed like suck a goodhearted guy. This is devastating.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Thanks for your work preserving his legacy and helping a new generation access his work.
