How did it get worse. "it's discriminating against poor people, cognitively disabled people, and indie authors not to allow ChatGPT" certainly is... A take. A take one could have and then choose to put out on the public internet.
Like…do they think writing a novel is something every human needs to do and therefore requires accommodations? Are they trying to pitch this as a creative curb cut?
The "hire humans" is a weird one. I don't recall successful writing ever hinged on hiring a staff.
I don't fathom how they can include the part about how not-using a service you have to pay money to rent access to is socioeconomic discrimination. "It's discrimination against poor people to suggest they not pay for the text generation tool." Could someone make that make sense for me?
Yeah, as a poor, independent author with ADHD, I call BS on the idea of being against AI writing as being discriminatory. AI Art gets a small wedge of a pass if you aren't trying to pass it off as professional stuff. Like, making placeholder art or D&D character art.
oh dear god The idea that an LLM could be considered assistive technology should be launched into the goddamn sun, then the burnt remnants should be collected and nuked again to be sure. "we don't actually want to do the work to make this accessible so we'll let the bullshit machine do it"
This BS that AI is somehow democratizing creativity or making it more accessible is vile. It's an attempt to weaponize empathy for disabled communities against creative workers like actors, voice actors, artists, animators, FX workers, journalists, & writers. The fake moralism is a damned lie.
