Yeah, man! This has been rad! Honestly, now that I’ve read the new Silent Hill 2 remaster doesn’t suck, I might do that. What about you?
I totally get it! That’s how I feel about soulsbourne games. I love the atmosphere, settings, monsters, everything. But I do not like the mechanics. I’m a fan, but they aren’t for me
Yeah, that’s fair. It’s a pretty specific play style. I’m a huge DnD fan, so it was easy to adapt. FEAR aged really well because they wrote the enemy AI in such a fantastic way. Highly suggest playing it
I think Baldur’s Gate 3 is the closest. It’s mechanically a completely different game for sure, but the world and the characters and stories are just so enrapturing KoTOR as well as F.E.A.R also comes close but for very different reasons
It’s pretty dated now, but I think there are mods for QoL improvements. I’ve never before or since felt so immersed and connected to a world that felt so immeasurably alien. True creative masterpiece
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Still nothing has ever been done like it
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty This was the first time I played a game that felt like more than a game. It felt like an art project, even as a young kid and I was truly blown away by it. It’s still the only MG game I’ve finished
Glad to have you here, dude!
Rayman 2: The Great Escape The stranglehold this game had on me at the age of 10 or 11 is insane. Hours and hours and hours. I would draw Rayman everywhere. I whipped out the Dreamcast in college to give it another go and it was just as fun as it ever was
