I think Baldur’s Gate 3 is the closest. It’s mechanically a completely different game for sure, but the world and the characters and stories are just so enrapturing KoTOR as well as F.E.A.R also comes close but for very different reasons

I just couldn't get into baldurs gate 3, spent a lot of time in it but just decided it wasn't my thing! I keep meaning to play F.E.A.R
