Scientists, can I recommend we phase out the phrase "The Money Plot"?

I am using “the boss plot” now. Like the Boss level in videogames. I honestly thought for ages people meant that it was the plot that got them the grant. Perils for nonnative speakers.

After a moments contemplation to figure out what this post was about, I am quite relieved to find I’m already there.

I just go with "key plot" because I am boring.

Only if the phase-out is a step function where no one ever says it again, starting... now.

Please yes stop using that phrasing, and ditch “seminal paper” while you’re at it.
