Specific things get coverage—such as the DeSantis staffer who put Nazi symbols in an ad, Trump hosting Nick Fuentes and Kanye West, and Mark Robinson identifying himself as a Nazi—but it doesn't get the sort that puts it all together, such as regular stories titled "The GOP's Antisemitism Problem."
"But, but, Republicans support Israel! At least we say we do whenever we're pitching for Jewish votes."
Yeah. Also: how many articles can you think of that have identified US conservative christian support for israel -because they want it to rebuild the temple so they can then kill everyone in the country, cuz they think that will bring back Jesus- as the Antisemitism it is?
It doesn’t get that attention from Democrats either. They treat Charlottesville like it was the one time a Republican said something bad
What makes me so mad is Jews used to undertand this. My grandparents were not progressive on many things but they knew the GOP hated us so they were loyal Democrats. When did Zionist Jews start forgetting: you don’t vote for the people who say you killed jeebus?!
I think part of this is that the press is crippled by a broken concept of impartiality. They can't say the GOP has an antisemitism problem because it's not a problem for the GOP, it's a core competency. So their inner censor tells them they have to just treat individual actions as "over the line"
Very fine people, all of them.
Yes. For the press, I always give the example compare & contrast between episodic reporting on Trump crimes & horrors and a sculpted & continual focus designed to push a theme, such as Hillary's emails or Biden's cognitive capacity.
Nor Congressional hearings with "when did you stop beating your wife?" type questions.
A Trump guy went into a synagogue and killed 11 people because Trump said that Jews were conspiring to bring immigrants into the country.
