New Pub with Cynthia Siew in Aphasiology! www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.... Does cat and bat sound similar? Cat-wine? Cat-camp? We found two patterns of performance on this task by persons with aphasia. One pattern reflected younger and older adult controls and one pattern did not!

Blue lines are people with aphasia whose pattern is similar to our previous work with younger adults (red line). Green lines are people with aphasia whose pattern is "atypical" relative to our previous work

I don't actually know.. but your examples make me wonder if it's at all driven by visual features of the digits. 01234 seem more visually separable than 56789 (especially 689).

@npr.org Please correct this. So much is known about the benefits of aphasia therapy and treatments for primary progressive aphasia and FTD. You are misleading people.
