I do spreadsheets on Word using the Tables tool and a calculator... ;)

I come across things like this a lot, like I get people are busy but they might actually be less busy if they were willing to step slightly outside of their comfort zone and learn some new tricks. I reckon people think "computer scary" and it puts them off trying.
Ah Excel LOOKUP last time I used that was in the days of the 386/486 and Windows 3.1
