Whenever a big company, or their Playdoh incel front man, says something like “Small content creators don’t matter when it comes to AI training” (see Facebook, Duolingo, D&D, etc) all I hear is: I don’t care about the people who cannot afford to sue me.

I do wonder if we all pulled together they’d be fooked. But they’ve done a great job of divide & conquer.

Yeah, logically speaking the vast majority of content on the internet comes from small content creators, so that means if you're pulling from everything, most of the influences on your model are going to come from those people. So the only reason they "don't matter" is lack of power to punish them.
