Community trail grants are so so great and to be clear you are a literal hero for working on that proposal.

I think we agree there, but to be clear I'm respectfully disagreeing with your characterization of mountain bikers creating their own trail as a general problem. This is not the case; not because of any inherent virtue, but because properly built trails are vastly more fun to ride.

(Duluth MN and Bentonville AR are two great examples of a turbocharged version of this community model, but if you scale that down it's broadly representative)

I apologize for barging in but this is something I have domain knowledge of and... that is not an accurate characterization of mountain biking? Mountain bike trail building involves a lot of people and time and, in the vast majority of cases, significant community involvement.

Am I wrong to also find it absolutely nuts that he volunteers pseudonym and geo info about a prospective source? Like I get there was no understanding reached between them but that still seems reckless practice.
