I have fond memories of Wall's blackcurrant icecream from early childhood in the 1950s. If there were blackcurrants to be had here I'd try this recipe.
That’s interesting! Fairly close to the way I make it, altho’ I’ve never used the leaves before and will give it a try. I use a bit less milk and a bit more cream, a bit less sugar and also a tablespoonful or two of Creme de cassis. Definitely needs a custard base. Tried the “quick” methods 👎
