Millennial with kids and a parent who needs long term care right here. If in-home care would have been an option my loved one maybe wouldn’t have deteriorated to the point of needing a nursing home for an entire YEAR.

The push back from corporate owned long term care facilities will be rough. It’s such a terrible money driven scavenger behemoth especially with Boomers flooding into them as they hit 80s and 90s

Minnesota has a remarkably good elder safety net. My parent would have been trapped in a nursing home forever if there wasn’t a state run program that provided assisted living.

I feel like this is whispered directly into the ear of most of my women friends, panicking over what happens if the kid isn’t out of the house before parent has a stroke. Half of the homeless population is over 50, guys.
