3 women's volleyball teams have forfeited playing San Jose State because of the allegation there is a -- fully in compliance with NCAA rules -- trans player on the team. This is both a despicable act of school-sanctioned discrimination and athletic cowardice. www.reviewjournal.com/sports/unlv/...
The bigotry is astoundingly disgusting. I’m curious if all the players on these teams that forfeited were actually in support of not competing or if the coaches, colleges, administrators were pressured by the politicians.
San Jose State's statement pretty much sums up the situation. www.reviewjournal.com/sports/unlv/...
If women are too fragile to play volleyball against a trans woman, these schools need to end all intramural co-ed sports. All teams to must have separate practice times and/or venues for women’s teams. Oh, and, of course, no male coaches for female teams. Make them prove it’s not political theatre.
Woo! SJSU's going all the way this year!
Two male players have already severely injured female players on other teams. I don’t blame these girls for refusing to play. Nobody should have to risk permanent injury because a male spiked a ball down on her head.
Losers -quite literally in this case -gonna lose.
She’s a senior so presumably this wasn’t an issue prior to this year. Which seems like it undercuts the whole “this is unfair and unsafe” nonsense.
Agree. These schools are managed by despicable disgusting hateful humans. My heart goes out to the player being abused. And most likely most of the other players who just wanted to play the games, compete and have fun.
These women's rights activists have got to be stopped.
Isn’t the girl in question a redshirt?
