Re: Davidai, whether or not we agree with students, faculty (teachers) should never treat them as the enemy. It is our responsibility to engage them in pedagogical (which includes politics) processes, not virulent antagonism. Amazing that this needs to be said.

This is true for the entire approach of universities to student protest—even if representatives of the institution disagree with student speech acts, violent policing is quite literally never an acceptable response. It is actually antithetical to the very terms of accreditation.

Emailing parents’ employers is the kind of thing that really ought to get you pushed right off the tenure track. But, business schools are different.

This guy is a power-hungry asshole, and it is wholly unethical for him to use his authority over students to punish them for their political views. I would be fired in a hot second for something like this. Astounding that he is not.

Idk if you could call him a professor anymore. I certainly wouldn't trust him to impart facts that aren't 100% consistent with his own ideology.
