I think my favourite live-action take is Elementary, where Holmes is portrayed as an addict in recovery and Lucy Liu as Joan Watson. Literarily, the recent Mossa & Pleiti books by @older.bsky.social (Sherlock & Watson on a gaspunk Jupiter and they’re lesbians) are rocking the tropes for me nicely.
I love the Mossa & Pleiti books so much! @older.bsky.social could teach a master class on atmosphere in novels.
